Yesterday afternoon, not so long before the impressive Opening Cerimony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, Natalia Vodianova was walking on the streets of London, carrying the Paralympic Torch with pride and joy.
The supermodel, well accustomed to sports as a marathon runner, was given the honor of being part of this great and very mediatic sports event due to her role as an ambassador for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, which will take place in the Russian city of Sochi.
Parading her great shape in the official uniform of the event, Natalia started her leg (one of the last ones) at London’s Surrey Docks, and then ran along Alloa Road, Trundleys Road and Rolt Street with a big smile on her face the whole time.
And, if this pictures aren’t enough to show how happy and honored Natalia felt about this task, her own words confirm it: “As an ambassador of Sochi-2014, I am focusing my efforts to raise awareness specifically towards Paralympic Games. I am delighted that in London this year Paralympians are the centre of media and public attention. They are my new role models of strength, determination and Olympic spirit”.
